A few little things that have been adding value & happiness to my life as of late. Enjoy <3

The start of a more intentional online presence.

It doesn't feel right for me to post a picture and caption it "wellness♥️" when I literally have an exalted Mercury. I have so many thoughts, ideas & experiences I can and need to share. So... I'm back. But don't expect consistency because my tarot deck said not to. ;)

Here are a few practices, foods and products I've been loving this February:

1. Slow mornings + reading in bed

Most February mornings were spent waking up to an 8:30 alarm and reading in bed for an hour before getting up. In January we started doing things to support our circadian rhythms, one of which being consistently waking earlier.

I usually start working at 11, and I notice such a difference in the days that I take time to myself before my work day starts instead of rushing out the door.

2. Honey Almond Body Oil

Self care showers have been a staple for me this month. I use a massage/body oil from Take Over Cosmetics that smells so good and leaves my body feeling soft & smooth. Natural self care allows me to be intentional without worrying about breakouts and crappy ingredients/chemicals.

Caring for my skin is one of the best ways for me to show myself love & care.

3. Audiobooks

My new obsession!! I have been listening to audio books while I work, do dishes and laundry, lay on the couch and look out the window, drive, etc.

You can download an app called Libby that connects to your library card so you can rent books & audiobooks for free.

Audiobooks are the perfect stimulation for me and with my love for books, I can't believe it's taken me this long to fall in love them!

4. Dancing!!

This month we went to The Ideal Theater & Bar twice, listened to live music and danced for HOURS. On the February Full Moon, they had a public dance party with a DJ who mixed all kinds of music. I feel like people dancing together is a rare experience, especially in the midwest, so this felt very special.

Dance adds so much happiness to my life, just letting go and letting my body move. And it's extra special when it is a shared, collective, experience with others.

5. Iced matcha latte

A big, frothy, oatmilk matcha has been my fav morning drink lately. I love a good iced drink and this one will definitely carry into my March favs.

Glowwithella on social media has inspired me, I've been loving her wellness content!

6. Eggs

I reintroduced eggs into my diet this month and it's been one of the best decisions I've made for myself. Protein for breakfast is important for so many reasons (supporting the circadian rhythm, nervous system, etc.) and I wasn't getting those nutrients in the morning.

I would often skip breakfast when I was vegan because a plant-based breakfast took too long for me to make. I don't love oatmeal so it felt like I had limited options and it was hard to obtain a balanced breakfast without spending 30 minutes in the kitchen.

I identify so closely with the labels I attach myself to, making it hard for me to go from vegan to vegetarian. I rode the line between the two for a while but finally accepted it and feel so good because of that. Allowing myself to find what works best for me and my lifestyle & understanding that not every choice has to be permanent.

It feels so good to be back blogging. Me being more intentional online means merging the thoughts, ideas and experiences with the photos I want to share online.

The internet is SUCH a powerful tool and I want to use it to say more than a half-thought caption. So, this is where we start.

Thanks for reading :)

What are your February faves?!

And, if desired, how can you be more intentional and purposeful online?

Love always, Abby Long
